CT Personal Care Assistance

The PCA program provides assistance to individuals who have permanent, severe and chronic physical disabilities who meet the Department of Social Services’ criteria for program eligibility.  The program allows for assistance with hands-on activities and tasks such as bathing, dressing, eating, transfers and other personal care.  Individuals on the program make their own choices regarding the people they will hire to provide the assistance they need to live in their home and community.

As the assigned Fiscal Agent, Allied Community Resources is responsible for:

  • Providing in-home enrollment, training, and information to program participants who self- direct their services as a household employer.
  • Verification of Provider credentials and employment documentation
  • Maintenance of the statewide Provider Directory
  • Process Timesheets and Invoices on behalf of the program participant using program funds
  • Conduct statewide outreach to prospective providers

Each participant and or employer is assigned a direct customer representative committed to providing the highest level of customer service. Our staff has an extensive working relationship with DSS Social Workers, administrative staff, service coordinators, providers and employers.
