Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Medicaid Waiver Program

The ABI Medicaid Waiver Program is a state run program that provides non-medical services to people with brain injury. It allows for these individuals to live outside of institutions and nursing facilities by providing services for them in their home and community.

Allied Community Resources, Inc. is a fiduciary agent for the program and is responsible for processing time sheets and invoices and issuing payments for Waiver services for the State of Connecticut. We are also responsible for approving training service providers and maintaining a list of approved providers that is sent statewide to social workers who are working on service plans for the participants.

The ABI Program provides nineteen non medical, home community-based services, for individuals with brain injury who have met the programs eligibility criteria with the Department of Social Services. Click here for a list of services

Allied’s role begins when we receive a service plan from the Department of Social Services. If the referred individual has household employees on their plan, they need to be set up as a household employer and need to complete the tax paperwork application.

When Can I start Working?

  • You must be an approved provider on the ABI Program
  • You must be named to the plan in writing by the clients social worker
  • You must complete the New Hire Paper Work Packet
  • New Hire Paper Work must be approved by Allied
  • You must submit acceptable identification
  • A Criminal Background check must be done than Allied will confirm a start date

How Do I get Paid?

  • Time Sheets/ Invoices are to be submitted on a weekly basis and payment is made every other week.
  • To avoid delay please make sure your time sheets/ invoices are completed in an accurate manner.
